The First Round of Baylight
When I started the Baylight Series, I honestly had no clue how much it would change me. I created it because I wanted to do something different. I didn’t want another structured, classroom-style mentorship. I wanted something real. Something that felt like late-night conversations with your creative friends. A space where we could talk about photography, business, and life without pretending we have it all figured out.
The first round of Baylight turned out to be more special than I ever could’ve imagined. Every single person who joined showed up with open hearts and such a willingness to grow. We laughed, learned, and got deep about the hard parts of running a photography business. Things like burnout, self-doubt, and trying to balance life while chasing your dreams. It was such a reminder that we’re all figuring it out one step at a time.
As a person, this experience made me slow down and see how much beauty there is in community. Hearing everyone’s stories, their wins and their struggles, made me feel connected in a way I didn’t even know I needed. It reminded me that growth doesn’t have to be lonely—it can be shared.
As a business owner, it made me more intentional. I started thinking about the kind of leader I want to be and how I want to show up for others. It pushed me to look at my business not just as a job but as something that has real impact on the people around me.
And as a photographer, it completely reignited my spark. Teaching and sharing my love for light and storytelling made me fall in love with this craft all over again. I picked up my camera with fresh eyes and a heart that felt full.
I’m so grateful for the people who trusted me to lead them through this first round. You all reminded me why I do what I do. This journey has made me better in every way and I’m so excited to keep it going.
Here’s to community, creativity, and chasing the light together. I can’t wait to see where Baylight goes next.
